Electropolishing (EP) is defined as electrochemical polishing or electrolytic polishing. It is an electrochemical process that removes material from a metallic substrate. The purpose of this finishing is to polish, passivate, and deburr metal parts. EP is often referred to as the reverse of electroplating. It may be used instead of abrasive fine polishing in microstructural preparation.
